A couple of months ago Sa Ding Ding performed in London and somehow no Western fashion blogs (that Steph saw) used this as an opportunity to talk about Sa Ding Ding’s amazing fashions! This is an oversight! Much as Steph adores Fan Bing Bing, if you’re not also into the fashion of Chinese singer 萨顶顶 then you are super missing out.
Don’t worry though, Steph is here to help you out.
So anyway, Sa Ding Ding is a mainland pop singer. She sings in Mandarin, Tibetan, Sanskrit, and a language she MADE UP HERSELF.
Her music is like an adventure wrapped up in confusion wrapped up in notes that I can’t hit, and it is a delight.
Her fashion is SO GREAT. Look at her head piece for the CCTV (Gregorian) New Year’s Eve Gala! Real talk: WHY IS IT NOT ON MY HEAD?
My favourite album is Harmony; my favourite song is 天籁之爱 / The Sound of Love which is a ridiculous song but is really fun to sing. This version isn’t the album version but it is the FUN version.
Above, she’s at the Royal Albert Hall. Look at that backup dancer. Look at that headpiece. Look at those garish rhinestones.
LOOK AT HER
LOOK AT HER FACE
Don’t look at her clothes in this one but LOOK AT HER HEADPIECES
FOREVER
I am in love with those headpieces!!! Wow! Also I will never get tired of you posting a bout Chinese fashion.
